This is one of my favorite new varieties in our garden. The squashes are SWEET, creamy, and delicious. They are slightly less dry than a buttercup/kabocha but equally yummy. They happen to also be large squashes, so they'd be great to feed a crowd or you can freeze the extra. These squash have a VERY hard rind, so you may need to bring it out to your woodshed to split it open with an axe (seriously) or (more reasonably) bake it whole in the oven. 
Now that these are ripe, we're offering to cut them into $5 pieces for you. 
We have a maximum per squash total of $18, though some of them would cost $24 at $1.50/pound. Cut squash will be $2.00/pound.
